The Italian term ‘Tempo’ means ‘Time’.
My use of predominantly a black and white color palette for this piece is to convey my concept of time, as I interpret in terms of contrast. Past, present and future, day and night, slow and fast. White symbolizes light, the activity and vibrancy of each moment, black represents the absence of light, and time can be thought as the absence of that moment, with the possibility for future moments to occur. The bold brushstrokes and dynamic motion is to capture the relentless flow of thoughts and dreams, embracing time not by clockwork rhythms, but by the pulsing beat of each moment, by momentum, illuminating the power of the mind to shape the human experience . How we choose to perceive time, defines our journey through life.

The artistic vision for this painting is to highlight the power of the mind to shape our experience.
